Melee soldiers can not attack across rivers, unless the enemy is across a bridge.

In the rulebook archers cost 4 coins in addition to the other resources. However, archers cost 5 coins on the Cheat Sheets. The Cheat Sheets are correct. Archers cost 5 coins in addition to the rest of the resources.

Objective Cards: When can you claim them?
Objectives can only be claimed during your turn. You may NOT claim any objectives on another player’s turn.

Settlements: Forests, mountains and water placement
Settlements can be placed on grassland, and forest spaces. Settlements can NOT be placed on mountain, river or lake spaces. Additionally, settlements can be place anywhere on forest spaces, whether in part or completely in the forest.
